The Little Giant WE20G05P4-21 High Head Effluent Pump can also be used for aeration. This pump is also perfect for ornamental fountains and waterfalls.
The water level around the pump should stay above the valve at the top of the pump. That means that the lowest point of the float switch controlling the pump should be above the valve. The life of the pump can be shortened if there is not enough water above the inlet of the pump.

You would have to use an inverter and have big enough solar area to power the pump.
